Static sound with Digital sound output using HDMI on MINX U1 (XBMC ok , KODI 19.1 not possible)

Hello all. I am new to this forum and seeking some help. Thank you for helping out.

Current Setup
MINIX NEO U1 Connected to BOSE Lifestyle 650(HDMI) (5.1 Speakers supporting DTS and DD).
Lifestyle 650 Connected to LG OLED C1.

Network
MINIX connected to Synology NAS via SMB v2.

Problem
Assuming both are configured properly using HDMI audio Output and followed https://kodi.wiki/view/Audio_quickstart_guide. Using XBMC for MINX, I was able to have 5.1 digital output for a few of my 5.1 digital Videos.

However, I copied the exact settings from XBMC to KODI 19.1. I was unable to play 5.1 audio sources. all I get was static noises.

The rationale why KODI 19.1 is required when I can stick to XBMC Minix edition
It's due to XBMC Minix edition being unable to support SMB V2 and above and I am unable to connect to the NAS.

Any help or workarounds are truly and gratefully appreciated. Thank you all in advance for the time taken to assist. =)

I no longer have U1 set up but if you post screen shots of your Kodi 19 settings of
> Player Setting > Videos
> System settings > Audio

we may be able to help

for fun i loaded up my old U1 with Kodi 19.1
Its not possible to change to IEC audio out:(
Regretably what you have discovered is true and it seems that the U1 ( at least on official android 5 firmware) and Kodi 19 do not play nice together at all with HDMI passthrough, in fact as far as i can see its FUBAR :(

I think that Kodi 18 should work OK, worth a try
