NGC-5 USB Port issues

Nevada

Hi, I have some issues with 3.1 usb ports. I have an external NVME drive mounted in an Orico nvme-usb adapter. It works perfectly on other PC and Laptop when connected to usb 3.1 port with speed of more than 600 MB/s.
When I connect it to MINIX usb ports it start data transfer but after few seconds the drive disconnect an reconnect itself and data transfer fail. Tested on Windows 10 Pro.
The same disconnetion issue heappen starting test speed with USBDeview app.
Connecting the drive through an usb hub without 3.1 support it works fine but with speed around 30 MB/s.
Somebody have similar issues or ideas to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi,

I use my NGC-5 for a homelab with ESXi 7.03 and many virtual machines. My datastore is a 2,5" SATA SSD mounted in an Ugreen adapter. No issue so far.
I already had issues with cheap adapters with NVME ssd on my main PC (disconnections).

Thanks. So I think that the only thing to do is to try to change the adapter with a better one... I will do it as soon as I can, but the strange thing is that with other PC I have no problem at all...

I've noticed USB issues as well with my NGC5 ever since I added more RAM and a Windows 10 Upgrade. When plug in a USB SSD via the USB 3 ports or the USB C port, my Logitech mouse and keyboard connections begin to flicker. Removing the USB dongle and plugging it back in usually fixes the problem. Additionally, other USB devices randomly disconnect. I've already configured the USB controllers, via Device Manager, to not allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

With all USB ports or only 3.1 ?

On the NGC5, all 4 ports have the blue USB 3 ports, I assumed they were all the same…just confirmed, all 4 are USB 3.1.

I have the same issue, never found a fix, basically if I plug a thumb drive in then my wireless mouse lags and behaves erratic.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with usb issues, not so glad to see that the problems are also of other kind and that's there is no solution yet...

I was thinking of blasting everything away and starting with a clean Windows 10 install.
Not a bad idea, I seem to remember this started after one of many windows updates so maybe a reinstall of the Minix firmware would sort the problem.

Let us know how you get on.

I have bought the ngc-5 one week ago, windows 10 is the one preinstalled, but updated with all microsoft available update, so in that case the issue maybe related only to MS operating system update.
I am finalizing my triple boot environment. As soon as finished I can try other O.S. (not Windows) so I can understand if it's a problem of O.S. or Hw/Bios...

As i said before, no issue with Linux or other linux-like OS. Let me know if other OS work.
