It seems so. I've been looking around the last weeks. Apparently there's nothing faster then the U22 max. I tested a few boxes but the benchmarks are all awful. The U22 has got to be the best box in its class out there. Too bad it is discontinued and the operation system almost obsolete.

The only two problems I have with the U22 max is the 32bit mode and only 4 GB of RAM. I like to play Minecraft on the box but the render distance is really low due to the lack of RAM(I guess) . 8GB would be nicer

Does dolby vision work in CoreELEC on the Max?Unless you absolutely NEED android, you could change to the Linux based CoreELEC, which has Kodi builtin. That's what I do, but I use my Minix U22-XJ Max ONLY for watching downloaded TV shows, movies and personal videos.
When running android I really had nothing but problems with Minix playing movies and videos smoothly. I tend to be rather sensitive to such things. Running CoreELEC solved all my problems.
CoreELEC updates come all the time, the developers are actively working on updating and improving it. I run the latest stable release internally on my Minix. It replaces the android OS completely. I also run the in development nightly release from an SD card, which the Minix will boot to if the SD card is inserted in the box.
There is a thread somewhere in this forum about how to run and install CoreELEC.
Here is the CoreELEC website, where you can get more info on CoreELEC and download the OS .

If you dont need Android why buy a Android U22. Kodi works just fine on other boxes and "Android TV " TVs. I need access to News, Game, Weather, IPTV, Security Cam, Food, Map etc Apps and the U22 does all very well on one box.Unless you absolutely NEED android, you could change to the Linux based CoreELEC, which has Kod

But the Tanggula X5 Pro can't do FEL Dolby Vision. No, and MiniX appears to be out of the Android TV box business. I am not sure we will see further high-quality Android boxes from them. For what it's worth, the Tanggula X5 Pro--released early in 2024--is about the best possible successor I've seen.
